I always seem to be on the move having lived in seven cities and counting in my nineteen years. I'm not on the run from the law as many have assumed (at least I don't think so), but moving around has given me an appreciation for how places make stories and people make memories. While change is inevitable, books are the friends that I take with me from place to place. They comforted me when I was sick, they push me to continue to learn and grow into myself, and most importantly they opened me up to the possibilities of living in thousands of places all at once.
I primarily read YA fiction, as well as a lot of graphic novels and manga. However, I tend to be this combination of odd reads, so expect the unexpected!

Scott Pilgrim, Volume 6: Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour
Series Overall: 4.5 STARS! The epic saga that is Scott Pilgrim is not only an absolutely bizarre story, but is equally brilliant in they way it has been written and designed. Although I didn't always completely-positively-"have my babies", love each and every volume this series has to offer, but I can say that I never did not enjoy reading it. I never got tired of the jokes or the set up and every time I came back to read the next book it always felt fresh. This series does not go out of it's way to make you think but instead envelops you in a story and endears you to it's array of quirky, yet utterly real characters. That is what got me, (I haven't seen the movie) but with a storyline like this one I expected the characters to be over the top, exaggerated, and strange to the point of predictability. Characters are the one thing that make or brake my reading experience, and I was surprised to see that although the characters are put in strange situations (and on occasion turn into coins or jump into sword battles), taking them out of that context they are pretty real people. They didn't care, they weren't amazed or shocked, this was just their daily life. This again, surprised me. I loved each of the characters and how they behaved, and I'm sure if you looked close enough, deep, deep down there is some sort of deep message about friendship and love, or something. Now, the writing for each volume was consistently hilarious. The dialog, and even just the little touches were all amazing. The design and the just incredible artwork, with all the video game elements and expressiveness of each character, all came together. The art, and the panels, and the words, all so seamlessly created a world in which, yes, people go into epic battle and when defeated burst into coins. Not enough credit can be given for the amount of work that must have gone into these books. You can see it when you're reading and laughing just how much time went into all of this geekery.Scott Pilgrim also seems to be one of those stories that you can read over and over again, start to finish. Which is probably why those who have already seen the movie previous to the books also (to my knowledge) enjoyed the experience even though they knew the overall arc of the storyline. This is absolutely a series that everyone needs to read, it might not be everyone's cup of kick-ass tea to be sure, but this is definitely the front runner in geekery for a reason.I can praise these books to the sky and beyond, just go and read them all.
